A cruise in London?

Yes, of course, on the Thames. We slept in this morning. Best night of un-assisted (pharmacology) sleep I have had on this trip.

Took a short walk to the local coffee shop where I picked up a cappuccino for Russ and an americano l. The guy wanted to know if I wanted a “white” one or a “black” one. Got any ideas? A white one has cream. Now I ask you, why would you have an americano only to add cream?….Also indulged in a couple croissants (one was my favorite chocolate the other apricot). There was a croissant called vegan charcoal. Any guesses? Apparently you can make a flour like substance out of plants and when you do it comes out looking like charcoal. Not actually related to the briquettes😌 . Anyways, I didn’t choose that😉

Our next project was to make our way to the River Thames to take a boat tour ride. We had purchased a Big Bus Tour ticket back home online and this trip was included in the price.

Yes that is Big Ben behind us

So we journeyed down (or up?) the river for about 6 miles until we arrived at Greenwich where, if you ask Russ, you will find is the location where the science of longitude was perfected. No don’t ask, you will get an hour lecture 😝

Here is as close as we got to the Prime Meridian (look it up, I’m not going there):

Look at all those people making their pilgrimage to that spot☺️

We also got to see the Cutty Sark - no, not the scotch, in it’s final resting place

A lunch of fish & chips was shared along with a 1/2 pint here:

Kinda liked the directional signs in this pub:

Yep that about sums it up!

We made our way on the tube back to our hood and after my inedible dinner (ever had Thai Green Papaya salad-well me neither), we are at our home away from home, ready to rest up and take on a new day tomorrow!

Sorry about the formatting here. There are some things I just can’t figure out 😳

  2. Love Thai Green Papaya salad... generally. Maybe you just had a crappy one?
